Predicting Next Best Actions with ML
The Challenge
Mailchimp customers struggled to discover and adopt features that would drive their success. The Data Science team had built a predictive model to recommend optimal next steps, but we needed to test its effectiveness and find the best way to deliver these recommendations.
My Role & Approach
As Technical Product Manager, I facilitated collaboration between Data Science, Research, and Customer Success teams. I owned the hypothesis, designed success metrics, and chose to test recommendations through CS team calls rather than in-app messaging to enable human validation and align with our newly formed CS team structure.
Implementation
I partnered with a prototyping team to build a secure microsite where CS agents could access customer-specific NBA predictions. Despite manual data pipeline challenges, we successfully equipped 15 agents with personalized recommendations for their customer calls.
